Exam week

This week was mixed.. Some days were very chilly and relaxed, others were hard and full of studying..
I have to explain how he exams in NZ work..
Year 11 to 12 write at the end of the school year external exam, which are very important. A few months before these exams (NCEA exams)they have to write (you can't imagine how much they have to write, especially in Maths and Chemistry) school internal practice exams. They take each 3 hours and the kiwi girls have to write them in every subject.

Luckily I hadn't to write the exams, but I wanted as a practice.. So i wrote Maths on Monday, French and English on Thursday and Science on Friday.
Some parts like Maths and English were hard, but all in all it was an instructive experience.
The marks in NZ are different as well they only have four (not achieved, achieved, merit and excellence)and I think in Maths I failed :) With the other subjects I'm not sure, but I don't have such a bad feeling.

On the other days me and the german girls taught the year 7 and 8 girls in German. It was funny and they were very interested in learning something from us.

Mountain Biking

Yesterday we did mountain biking at Outdoor Ed and it was incredible cool! I can't remember when I had so much fun while I was biking, maybe when Hanna and I biked to school :)
First we get all the things like helmet and bikes and then our instructor gave us an instruction and a few advises, that we don't have an accident.
The first time we biked for 30 or 40 minutes and it was a good start, but some girls were really scared, so we stopped sometimes or had to wait.
At the end was a seesaw and some girls, including me bike over it.
The second ride was harder, because it was faster and there some pretty steep paths. In the middle there was a harder seesaw it was so narrow and I almost fell off when I biked over it. I was the onliest girl, who did it.
I really liked it and I want to do it again! Great day!

And in the morning we taught the Year 7 girls and they were so interested that it was very nice to work with them and answer their questions.

My house

Lunchtime with Kie

In my my lunchtime I went to town with Kie, to get her some food.. (She wrote her economics exam :( ) I still have no money!!! :( so I couldn't buy any food!
On my way back to school, (where I had to stay the whole day, without any lessons!) I saw a weird guy who was very interesting for the gulls ?!

Shopping with Christina

Saturday was chilly and funny with Christina in town. We met us in town, because I need a dress for the formal on 21st September. Before we met I was with my host mother and Tash at the make- up sale and it was cool! Make- up and perfume everywhere and almost all things for really good prices :) Unfortunately I had no money on my credit card and I couldn't buy all the things I chose :( But I bought the 24h lip gloss and it is really good! When I noticed that I had no money it damaged our good mood only a little bit and we searched dresses. I found one, bu I'm not sure.. What do you think.. dark red without straps or light blue with spring flowers..?? After a while we discovered a "Lush" shop and the staff persuaded us to get a free face mask, cupcake flavor :)

Concert on Friday night

On Friday night I was at a concert with Kie..
In the afternoon was a performing arts school from Auckland at St. Hilda's and they showed us a little performance of their tour programme.
They invited all students to come to the concert, where they sang, danced, acted and prayed.
Might sound strange, but it was really good, especially the singing!
Kie and I had a lot of fun, but sometimes it was difficult to understand what they said..

Rock climbing 23rd August

Yesterday was a exciting day! I was afraid of doing outdoor rock climbing, because I never did it before and I had nightmares from the times I climbed in the climbing halls on friend's birthdays.
But it was less scary as expected and I'm very proud of me that I did it. The rocks were quite smooth and it looked like you can't climb there, but our guide explained it to us and we were ready to try it.
The first time it was new and we all were very carfull, but with the time we became more confident and I reached the top of the second difficult wall! :)
Unfortunately Karla's kneecap flipped out during she was climbing. It was a cool event and I hope we will do it again.
That hang at the entrance.. very inviting :)

The first attempt..

Not the best shot or outfit :) but it was great fun!
Near the harbor wonderful landscape..

My farm weekend

My weekend was a good. My host parents and I went to the farm again and we stayed there for the night. I watched Mike and Neill, when they cut wood and then it happened something horrible! :O
In a piece of wood were hoo- hoo grubs, small white disgusting animals.. My host father found a very big hoo- hoo grub, which had the size of my finger. And he threw it towards me and I was so scared that I jumped away in the mud!!
The rest of the day was not so spectacular and we watched a movie when we ate a yummy meal with chicken..
Unfortunately I woke up very early, because the chicken were too loud and Mike snored that I can't sleep again. :)

Royal albatros center

Today all international students went to the royal albatros center and we learned a lot about albotros'. We watched a film and then I had to dress up as an albatros and we learned that they are with wings up to 3 metres long. These are the largest sea birds in the wotld and they are rare and threatened with extinction. After that we walked to the observe point and we saw despite it was raining a few albatros babies. The babie weith to ten kilos and the are so heavy that they can't fly and they walk slowly.  In September they will leave New Zealnd for 5 years and they will return for breeding. Normally they die with 35 or 40 years, but there is one albatros who became 62 years! in the afternoon we walked to the beach where the bue little penguins live, but there are only at night at the beach.  I saw two seals and some other birds and fourtenatly we discovered a little cave with a penguin in. At the end we watched a film about the danger of plastic and that a lot of sea birds eat plastic, baecause they can't distinguish itfrom their normal food.

My weekend

Good afternoon!
The weekend was very nice..
On Saturday my host family and I were the whole do at the farm of their relations. The couple name Sarah and Neil is very friendly and Sarah can cook very delicious asian food and cakes. We or more Mike and Neil cut wood for the oven and put it in the trailer. I could sit on at the back of an very old yellow truck :) I saw 3- day old lambs and they were so cute. The dogs were sweet as well and the chicken looked as the chicken from Michael R. (Photos will follow)
In the evening we watched TV on the huge TV you know from the advertisement on TV :)

On Sunday I chilled at home and watched the Olympics, because it rained cats and dogs..
