Baking

Yesterday I baked with my host sister Steph jam cookies and we had a lot of fun :) I tried to explain the instruction ''Schneiden Sie die Butter in Floeckchen'' and she was rightly confused.
Futhermore I had some problems with the dough, but at the end they lokked quiet delicious.
Maybe I should have practise a bit more in Germany.

Weekend

Hello!
It's a few days ago when I wrote the last post, so I have to catch it up. On Saturday I met Christina in the town and e went shopping.. Was a nice an funny day, but know I don't have so much money left... :( I had to buy new trainers for PE, because my others are to muddy.
On Sunday I slept in and I had a really yum breakfast in my bed :) In the afternoon I went on a bike tour with Michelle and it was nice. I saw a lot of nature plus hundreds of sheep and some horses. We forgot the time and so we returned a bit late, because in the afternoon we wanted to go to the cinema.
But now problem, my host father made us a quick lunch (bread with a hole and a fried egg in it) and we jumped under the shower, so that we could met my host parent's friends at the cinema. We watched Batman and it was okay. The movie took three hours and at the end it was quiet exciting, but I didn't understand very much.
In the evening we had our tea in a chinese restaurant and during we ate we watched the olympics and I've to say that NZ is not better than Germany :)

Amazing Wednesday

Good morning!
Yesterday was a very fantastic day! t school I met some new New Zealand girls and we had a lot s of fun together. In cooking we baked Crepes with berries and greek yoghurt. They were delicious and it was great fun to show the girls how to flip a Crepes with a pan :)
Futhermore there was a TV team which filmed us while we were cooking.
I learned the difference of the words ''Crepe'' (food) and ''crap'' (Scheisse) :)
In the afternoon I went with my Outdoor Education class to the Mount Cargill, the highest ''mountain'' of Dunedin. The walking track was amazing and the sharp rocks which we had to climb on were very impressive. The looked like organ pipes. I could have a view over whole Dunedin and it was wonderful, much better than our last trip!
Photos will follow, but at the moment I don't have my camera at school..

See You Maxine

Oriantation day

This photo was taken on our orientation tour on Tuesday. By the way next Tuesday we will go swimming with the whole school :)

Tuesday

Kia Ora,
yesterday was a nice but not so special day.. The school had the open day/ open night so we had only the first two lessons. After that we had to do a tour through the school and when we arrived at the kitchen and the students baked so delicious cupcakes <3\
At home I was a bit tired and I went into mzy bedroom and listened to music when my hostsister came and said: ,,Are you ready to go to the supermarket?". I was a bit confused, because it was 8.30 pm, but okay.. :)
The NZ supermarkts are so funny, because they only sell food in big sizes..
Okay you will hear from me tomorrow..

Tour trough Dunedin

Hey,
Today we made a guide tour trough Dunedin and it was nice. We saw the steepest street in the world and it was quiet amazing and a bit scary. We also saw the St. Klidas Beach, but there wasn't a beach anymore just the sea, because it was flood.
Then we had a meeting with our OutdoorEd teacher Ms Fletcher and she said that we will do an walk tomorrow :)

greetings from NZ Maxine

First impression about New Zealnd

Hey guys!
How are you? I'm fine. New Zealand is a wonderful country and I enjoy every second I be here.  The flight to Dunedin was amazing and hard. We flew 36 hours and I think I slept 4 of them. The food was four times the same.. CHICKEN :( I get a bit sick and I've still a jet lack, so I went to bed at 8 pm, because I can't hold my eyes open and I wake up at 4 am. :( i hope it will be better in a few days. My home stay family the Littlejohn's are very lovely. Michelle, Mike Natasha and Stephanie are so nice to me and I enjoy myself. The dogs Mika and Tiss are very sweet and I like them too.
The New Zealand landscape is beautiful with many hills and everywhere you can see green trees. The whether is good too. 13 degrees in winter is wonderful.
The school is very nice it's a bit different like in Germany, but I like it. The school uniform isn't very pretty but everyone is wearing it so it's okay. I chose the subjects Maths, Science, English, Outdoor Education, Photography, RE :( and french. I hope I will get cooking in a few weeks too.
Now I've to go to my home stay dad's car, which is next Cadbury factory, because he will drive me and Steph home.
See You maxine

First Post!

Hey!
This is my first post...
It's Monday evening and in one day and one week I will begin my amazing trip to New Zealand.
Yesterday I said goodbye to my friends and they gave me a really nice present and I will try to show it in my blog :)
We had a barbecue, which I think was my last this year, because in New Zealand it's winter at the moment. I already checked the wheater and it is like Germany, but I have to say that the Kiwis (that how NZ people are called) don't have a heating like we know. :(
My host family said I have to take very warm clothes and socks with me.
My host family: the parents, two girls, two dogs and a cat are really nice. (We only had contact by e-mail, but I think we match to each other) The other girls who will travel with me already have a host family too and I hope we live not to far from each other.
Maybe you are suprised that this blog is in english, but I hope it will help me to improve my English.
Of course English is one of my school subjects. The others are RE, PE, Photography, French and Outdoor Education, Maths and Science. I'm so excitd to do Outdoor Education, because I can learn new kinds of sport and the typical NZ sports.
Okay I finish my post now, because tomorrow I've school again.

Good Night
Maxine
